Summary List PlacementIn 1994, Joe Scarborough was chosen to Congress as part of former House Speaker Amphibian Gingrich’s Republican transformation, which saw the party make sweeping gains throughout the nation.
During a Friday look on HBO’s “Real Time with Expense Maher,” the conservative-turned-independent MSNBC host of “Early morning Joe” rebuked the party that he called house for years.
Maher was blunt when questioning Scarborough about his political transformation.
” Honestly, tell me about this,” Maher asked. “You’re an independent now. What does that state? To me, it states that you think the Republican Celebration is unsavable.”.
Scarborough, a frequent critic of former President Donald Trump, basically agreed with Maher.
” Unsavable– no doubt about it,” replied Scarborough. “It can’t be conserved.”.
” I used to get assaulted by liberals because I was a conservative; now, I’m getting attacked by individuals who chose a fascist since I’m a conservative,” he stated of Trump. “You understand, my good friends and my family members, they all elected him, and it’s been hard for me to process it.”.
He included: “The only way I have actually been able to concern terms with it is they’re not fascists, but they elected an oblivious guy who is a fascist. I don’t comprehend why.”.

Scarborough then questioned the motivations of voters who continue to reveal support for the former president.
” I have actually seen focus groups over the past couple of days of Trump citizens who still would support him,” he said. Now you tell me, what the f– does that indicate? What issues does this guy share with conservatives?”.
He included: “He undercut all of the allies that [former President Ronald] Reagan championed. He embraced Russia.”.
Scarborough then lit into Republican Sens. Josh Hawley of Missouri and Ted Cruz of Texas, calling both men “seditionists” for what he said was their function in the January 6 riot at the Capitol.
Hawley and Cruz sought to challenge the Electoral College certification of President Joe Biden’s 2020 victory, which was heavily criticized after insurrectionists breached the Capitol and 5 individuals were eliminated.
” Cruz and Hawley are seditionists,” he argued. “They should be in jail. You can look at the federal statute for prompting sedition, and it seems to me it’s what they did.”.
